Just prior to occupancy of your project, your architect can inspect the building to determine that it is complete and ready for use, and that the contractor is entitled to final payment.
You may also arrange a 12-month follow-up inspection with your architect to evaluate whether the facility is being properly used and maintained.
Your architect's involvement with the project does not end there. As a design professional, your architect has a continuing interest in knowing that your building works. You may want to retain the same firm to provide tenant-related services, or to design alterations and modifications in the future.
